Yellow Belly Oval Limoges Box with Bright Flowers
A rounded belly and an oval outline give this porcelain box a soft, generous shape, and bright flowers dance across its sunny yellow ground. It is a hand-painted Limoges box, made in Limoges, France, with all the cheer of a June border garden.
Sunshine in Full Bloom
Yellow is the color of buttercups, daffodils and the first warm mornings of the year, and here it serves as a glowing backdrop for the painted blossoms. The belly shape lets the flowers wrap around the curve, so the design keeps unfolding as the box is turned.

From Windowsill to Dressing Table
Set it on a dressing table, a sunny kitchen windowsill or a guest room nightstand where morning light can warm the yellow. It makes a cheerful present for a birthday, Mother's Day, a recovery after surgery or a simple thank you to a neighbor who waters the plants while you travel. Collectors who arrange their floral boxes by color find that a yellow piece like this one brightens the whole row, especially in the gray weeks of late winter when everyone is waiting for spring.
