Round Limoges Box with Light Blue and Pink Flowers

Light blue and pink flowers circle this round porcelain box in a soft pastel mix that recalls a spring morning in a cottage garden. Painted by hand in Limoges, France, it is a Limoges box with a gentle, easy charm.

Forget-Me-Nots and Rosebuds

Pink and pale blue are two of the most natural flower colors together, the pairing you find in a mixed border of sweet peas and cornflowers. On a round box, the flowers can wander all the way around without a corner to stop them. The result is light and calm, a piece that never shouts.

Pastel Shelf Notes

• Painted by hand in Limoges, France, on porcelain
• Fits a pastel, floral or cottage garden collection
• Pairs with light blue rectangle and pink floral oval boxes

Soft Occasions

It suits a baby shower hostess, a bridal shower, a spring birthday or a thank-you for a favorite nurse or teacher. On a vanity tray, a guest room nightstand or a windowsill, it adds just a whisper of color. Collectors who group by palette will find it slips easily between pink pieces and blue ones, linking the two.

Shaped, Fired, Then Painted

Many Limoges boxes are decorated by hand only after the white porcelain has been fired, and their metal mounts are fitted by hand as well.
