Round Blue Limoges Box with Bold Colorful Flowers

Bold, colorful flowers burst across a blue ground on this round box, as lively as a summer garden in full swing. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, where the painter clearly wasn't afraid of color.

A Garden Gone Bold

Many floral boxes lean soft and pastel, but this one turns up the volume. The blue background acts like a deep summer sky, and the bright blooms painted over it seem to jump forward, making it one of the most cheerful pieces on any shelf.

Bright Spots for a Bold Bloom

It makes a cheerful birthday present for someone with a bold sense of style, a thank-you for a garden club host, or a pick-me-up for a friend going through a gray winter. Artists and painters, especially, will appreciate the confident brushwork, and it brightens a room that needs one strong accent.
