Round Yellow Floral Porcelain Limoges Box

Yellow flowers spread across this round box like a patch of buttercups on a sunny lawn. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, cheerful, simple and easy to place in almost any room.

Buttercup Morning

Yellow is the color of early spring, of forsythia, daffodils and the first dandelions of the year. The round shape keeps the design soft and balanced, letting the flowers circle the box the way a wreath circles a door.

Sunny Shelf Spots

Set it on a breakfast table, a kitchen windowsill or a guest room nightstand where morning light falls. It makes a cheerful get well wish, a Mother's Day or spring birthday present, or a thank-you for a neighbor who brought over a casserole. Friends who decorate in blue and yellow French country style will find it a natural fit.

Brushwork After the Kiln

Limoges boxes like this one are usually painted by hand once the white porcelain has been fired, and their metal fittings are set by hand as well.
