Long Neck Brachiosaurus Dinosaur Limoges Box

The Brachiosaurus stretched its long neck high into the treetops of the Jurassic, and here that towering plant eater is reduced to a figurine box that fits on a desk. Rochard made it in porcelain, with every color brushed on by hand in Limoges, France.

Giant of the Jurassic

Few dinosaurs are as easy to recognize as the long necked sauropods, and the Brachiosaurus is the most famous of them, known for front legs longer than its back legs and a neck that let it browse the tallest branches. Rochard kept that long neck and long tail, so the silhouette is unmistakable even from across a room.

Prehistoric Pairings

• A Rochard Brachiosaurus figurine box
• Painted by hand at the Limoges studio
• Sits well with fossil, museum and natural history pieces

From the Dig Site to the Desk

Set it on a home office desk, a bookshelf between natural history volumes, or a curio cabinet next to a few real fossils or a polished ammonite. It is a fun present for a paleontology student, a geology teacher, a museum docent, or an adult who never outgrew a love of dinosaurs. Its long outline stands out among rounder animal boxes and always prompts a question or two.

Fired in Limoges

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat before any color is added by hand.
