Rochard Moose Porcelain Limoges Box

King of the northern woods, the moose is the animal every traveler hopes to spot at the edge of a quiet lake. This is a Rochard piece, a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, that opens to a small space inside.

Out of the North Woods

Few animals say wilderness quite like a moose. Seen at dawn by a pond or crossing a backroad in Maine or Alaska, it stops travelers in their tracks, and this porcelain version brings that moment indoors.

The Rochard Way

Rochard is a well-known name in modern Limoges boxes, known for lively animal subjects and careful hand painting. The moose is brushed in after the white porcelain is fired, so each finished piece varies a little.

Lodge and Cabin Companions

• A Rochard design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Joins bear, elk, deer and loon pieces in a wildlife grouping
• Right at home on a cabin mantel, a den bookshelf or a lodge desk

It makes a fine present for a hunter, a hiker or a friend who has just bought a cabin up north, and a memento of a trip to the Rockies, Maine or Canada.
