Pink Flower Bud Opening Porcelain Limoges Box

Soft pink petals are just starting to unfurl on this flower bud, which forms the whole body of the porcelain Limoges box. It was painted by hand and made in Limoges, France, catching a bloom in its first moment of opening.

Blushing Into Bloom

Pink buds are the promise of a garden in late spring, when the first warm days coax the petals loose. Here that promise is fixed in porcelain, with every petal painted by hand after firing so each finished bud has its own gentle variations.

The Bud Bouquet

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Pairs with the blue bud and open rose bud for a two or three color bouquet
• Belongs with flower, rose garden and Valentine pieces

Petal Soft Occasions

A pink bloom suits Mother's Day, a spring birthday, a bridal shower or a first anniversary. It is also a tender way to welcome a granddaughter or to thank a friend who always arrives with flowers from her garden. Set it on a vanity, a nightstand, a windowsill or a curio shelf, where its soft color brightens the room without shouting. Gardeners who wait all year for their peonies and roses will recognize the feeling right away.

The Kaolin Story

Limoges porcelain owes its start to the kaolin clay found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768.
