Blue Fountain Pen Limoges Box with a Cat on Top

A blue fountain pen stretches across this porcelain box, and perched at the top sits a small cat, as if it has claimed the pen for its own. The whole piece was hand-painted in Limoges, France, a decorative Limoges box rather than a pen that writes.

The Cat Who Signed the Letter

Anyone who has tried to write with a cat in the house knows the scene: the cat always finds the pen. That small joke is what gives this box its charm. The fountain pen speaks to letters, journals and the pleasure of good handwriting, while the cat adds a dose of household personality.

Ink and Whiskers

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Belongs with cat, writing and desk themed boxes
• Looks good beside book, inkwell and typewriter pieces

For Writers and Cat Owners

This is a clever present for a novelist, a journalist, a calligrapher, or a teacher who still grades in fountain pen ink. Cat owners who love stationery will appreciate the double theme. Keep it on a writing desk, a home office shelf or a library table among favorite books.

It is a pen that will never run dry, guarded by a cat that will never wander off.
