Rochard Flamingo Wading Bird Limoges Box

A flamingo, the graceful wading bird of tropical lagoons, takes shape in porcelain in this Rochard Limoges box. It is hand-painted in Limoges, France, and it brings a splash of the tropics to any shelf.

Wading Into Warm Waters

Flamingos are famous for their long legs, curved necks and habit of balancing on one foot in shallow water. They have become a symbol of Florida, the Caribbean and sunny vacations everywhere. Rochard captures the bird in a small porcelain piece, painted by hand so each one shows its own slight variations.

Tropical Getaways at Home

This makes a fun present for a friend retiring to Florida, a couple just back from a Caribbean cruise, or a bird watcher who has seen flamingos in the wild. It also suits a pool house shelf, a beach cottage bathroom, or a sunroom full of tropical plants. Flamingo collectors will appreciate it as an elegant counterpart to the lawn ornament kind. Give it for a summer birthday, a housewarming in the Keys, or simply to brighten a winter day.
