Birds on a Green Fountain Limoges Box Figurine

Small birds perch on a green garden fountain, as if pausing for a drink on a warm afternoon. The scene forms a hand-painted porcelain figurine box, made in Limoges, France.

Splash Time at the Fountain

Garden fountains and birdbaths have drawn painters and potters for centuries, because they put wildlife and design in the same frame. Here the green fountain anchors the piece while the birds bring it to life, giving the eye a little scene to explore rather than a single shape.

A Courtyard on the Shelf

This figurine box sits comfortably in a bird collection, a garden themed cabinet, or a sunroom display alongside potted plants. Pair it with a birdhouse, a watering can or a flower cart and you have the start of a tiny porcelain courtyard.

For Backyard Birdwatchers

• A fitting present for someone who keeps a feeder full all winter
• A housewarming nod for a new garden or patio
• A Mother's Day choice for a gardener who knows every bird by its song

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain fired at very high heat, which gives these small figures the clean white body that sits beneath the paint.
