Parrot in a Crystal Cage Limoges Box Figurine

A brightly painted parrot sits within a crystal cage, a colorful bird framed by sparkling bars. The parrot was painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France, and made as a Limoges figurine box.

A Tropical Visitor in Crystal

Parrots have charmed people for centuries with their brilliant feathers and clever personalities, and in eighteenth-century Europe they were prized companions in elegant drawing rooms. Pairing a vivid porcelain parrot with a crystal cage brings that history to life, the warm colors of the bird glowing against the clear surround.

Aviary Companions

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Suits a bird, tropical or exotic animal collection

Bright Colors for the Room

Set it on a sunroom shelf, a bright windowsill or a curio cabinet where light can catch the crystal. It makes a cheerful present for a parrot owner, a bird watcher back from a trip to the tropics, an avian veterinarian, or anyone who loves a splash of color. Fans of Caribbean and Latin American travel often enjoy it as a souvenir of island days.
