Rochard Studio Collection Limoges Box, Birds and Butterflies
Birds and butterflies share the painted surface of this Rochard Studio Collection Limoges box, like a summer garden caught mid-flutter. The porcelain was made and decorated by hand in Limoges, France.
A Garden in Flight
Where many Rochard pieces are sculpted into a shape, the Studio Collection puts the emphasis on painted decoration. Here the subject is the busy life of a garden on a warm day, with birds and butterflies spread across the box. It is the kind of piece you turn in your hand to see every side.
The Studio Touch
Rochard's Studio line leans on brushwork rather than novelty, which gives these boxes a more traditional feel. That makes this one an easy bridge between a classic collection of painted boxes and a shelf of Rochard figural pieces. It sits comfortably among either.
Wings Over the Vanity
- A Rochard Studio Collection piece, hand-painted in Limoges, France
- Fits a garden, bird or butterfly collection
- Pretty on a dressing table, nightstand or sunroom shelf
It is a lovely choice for a gardener's birthday or a Mother's Day morning, and it suits any room that gets good light. Limoges boxes like this one are painted after the white porcelain has been fired, which lets fine painted motifs sit crisply on the surface.
