Rochard Butterfly Postage Stamp Holder Limoges Box

A butterfly decorates this Rochard stamp holder, a porcelain box made to keep postage stamps close at hand on a writing desk, made and hand-decorated in the Rochard studio of Limoges, France.

Wings for the Mail

Letter writing may be rarer than it used to be, but those who still send handwritten notes treasure the ritual: good paper, a favorite pen and a stamp ready to go. This holder adds a light, garden feeling to the desk, the butterfly a reminder that a letter, too, travels a long way.

For the Faithful Correspondent

Give it to someone who writes thank you notes the old fashioned way, a stamp collector, a calligrapher, or a garden friend who sends seed packets by mail. Set it on a writing desk, a secretary, or beside the stationery box in a home office. It also suits a butterfly collection, adding a useful piece among the purely decorative ones.
