Vintage Film Movie Camera Porcelain Limoges Box

An old style movie camera, the kind that once rolled film on Hollywood sound stages, is captured in this porcelain box. It was painted by hand in Limoges, France, a Limoges box made for anyone who loves the magic of the movies.

Lights, Camera, Porcelain

Before digital cameras, movies were shot on reels of film that clattered through machines like this one. The vintage shape brings back the golden age of cinema, from silent comedies to the great studio epics. Each camera is decorated by hand, so small details differ from one box to the next.

Fired Before the Final Cut

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat before artists add color by hand, a process with as many careful steps as a film production. Give this piece to a filmmaker after a premiere, a film student at graduation, a photographer, or a friend who never misses the Oscars. It suits a home theater shelf, a media room or a desk in an editing suite.
