Fisherman on a Boat by the Dock Limoges Box
The morning is still and the water is calm in this quiet scene of a fisherman sitting in his boat beside a dock. Every part of it, from the boat to the dock beside it, was painted by hand on a porcelain Limoges box in Limoges, France.
Gone Fishing
Anyone who has spent a still morning waiting for a bite will recognize the mood here. The boat and dock give the piece a lakeside or harbor feel, more about patience and peace than about the size of the catch.

A Den Shelf by the Water
A den shelf, a cabin mantel or an office bookcase all suit it well. It makes a fine Father's Day present, a retirement send-off for someone finally free to fish every weekday, or a thank-you for the friend who always knows the best spot on the lake.
Sporting scenes like this are a favorite with sporting collectors of Limoges, and it is a welcome change from the many flower and animal subjects.
