Mini Mallard Greenhead Duck Limoges Box

A greenhead mallard, the drake that every hunter and bird watcher knows on sight, is captured in this small porcelain box. Painted by hand in Limoges, France, the Limoges box brings the marsh indoors.

Early Morning on the Marsh

Mallards are the most familiar ducks in North America and Europe, found on park ponds, farm ditches and wild wetlands alike. The greenhead drake is the showpiece of the species, and this mini version suits both hunting lodges and garden bird shelves. Each duck is painted by hand, so its coloring varies slightly from box to box.

Duck Blind Gifts

Give it to a waterfowl hunter on opening day, a decoy collector, a bird watcher, or a friend with a cabin on the lake. It also suits Father's Day or a retirement spent closer to the water. Set it on a lodge mantel, a den bookshelf or a desk beside duck stamps and decoys.
