School Bus Hand-Painted Porcelain Limoges Box

The school bus is a sight nearly every American knows from years of morning pickups, and here it takes shape as a porcelain box. Hand-painted in Limoges, France, this Limoges box turns a familiar ride into a cheerful shelf piece.

Next Stop, the Schoolhouse

For many people the school bus brings back memories of first days, field trips and friends saved a seat. This piece captures the vehicle in porcelain, ready to join a classroom shelf or a transportation collection. Since every box is painted by hand, the details vary slightly from piece to piece.

Riding Along With the Fleet

• Painted by hand on Limoges porcelain in France
• Joins fire truck, taxi and train pieces in a vehicle grouping
• Suits a teacher, school or transportation collection

Thank You, Driver

This makes a heartfelt thank-you for a teacher at the end of the year, a principal on retirement day, or a bus driver who greeted the same families every morning for decades. It also suits a school board member, a crossing guard, or a parent marking the day their youngest heads off on the bus for the first time. On a classroom desk, a home office shelf or a bookcase with yearbooks, it brings a warm reminder of school days. Teachers who collect apples and chalkboards will find it a natural next piece.
