Locomotive Leaving a Tunnel Limoges Box

A locomotive bursts out of a tunnel on this railway themed box, as if the express is right on schedule. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, built for anyone who still stops to wave at a passing train.

All Aboard the Express

The moment a train emerges from a tunnel is one of the great thrills of rail travel, a sudden rush of light and sound. This piece captures that instant in porcelain, recalling the golden age of steam when railways carried travelers across France and the world.

For the Railfan in the Family

Set it on a shelf beside a model railroad layout, on a desk in a home office or on a mantel with vintage travel posters above. It makes a fine present for a railroad enthusiast, a retiring conductor or engineer, or a grandfather who never outgrew his train set. A trip on the Orient Express or a scenic railway is another fine reason to give one.
