Yellow Taxi Cab Porcelain Limoges Box

Flag one down and this yellow taxi is ready to go, though its only route is from the shelf to the curio cabinet. The cab is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France.

Hail and Ride

Yellow cabs signal city life the world over, from crowded avenues to airport curbs. Painting this car by hand gives it a cheerful, sunny finish, with each example carrying its own small differences in tone.

Commuter Companions

This little cab is a natural for the urban commuter, the frequent business traveler, or a retired cab driver with stories from years behind the wheel. It suits a new job in a big city, a move to a downtown apartment, or a graduation for someone heading off to make it on their own. On an office desk or a bookshelf of travel guides, it adds a bright shot of yellow without taking over.

The Garage Shelf

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Parks well beside vintage car, bus and motor scooter pieces
• Fits a car, city travel or transportation collection

Line it up with other vehicles and the shelf becomes a small rush hour all its own.
