Hanukkah Dreidel Rochard Limoges Box in White
A white dreidel, the four sided top spun by candlelight during Hanukkah, takes shape here as a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box. Rochard made it in Limoges, France, with a quiet elegance that suits the festival of lights.
Spinning Toward the Eighth Night
The dreidel game has been played for generations, with each side marked by a Hebrew letter and every spin met with a cheer or a groan. The white finish here gives the familiar shape a calm, refined look. Painting is done by hand, so each dreidel has its own gentle differences.
Festival of Lights Table
- A Rochard Judaica design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
- Sits beside menorah, Star of David and Torah pieces
- Adds a winter holiday note to a faith themed collection
Gelt and Gratitude
Set it near the menorah during the eight nights, or on the table where latkes and jelly doughnuts are served. It makes a thoughtful Hanukkah present for a grandparent, a host family or a teacher at the synagogue school. Tuck a few chocolate coins beside it for the giving. Many families bring it out each December and pass it down, letting it become part of their own tradition.
Fired Hard and Bright
Like all Limoges porcelain, this dreidel is hard-paste porcelain fired at very high heat, which gives the white body its clean finish.
