Limoges Train Box with Tunnel Scene

A train rolls out of a tunnel on this porcelain box, a railway scene captured in miniature. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it brings the charm of a model railroad to the top of a shelf.

All Aboard the Mountain Line

Trains and tunnels belong together in every rail fan's imagination, from Alpine passes to the old lines that cut through the hills. The scene suggests that moment when the engine bursts back into daylight, and it captures it in a piece small enough to hold in one hand.

For the Rail Fan in Your Life

Model railroaders, retired conductors and anyone who grew up waving at passing trains will see the appeal at once. It makes a fine Father's Day present, a retirement send-off for someone in transportation, or a keepsake after a memorable journey by rail.

A Station on the Shelf

Set it beside a framed timetable, a model locomotive or a stack of travel books. In December it slips easily into a holiday village display, where a train coming through the tunnel always draws attention.
