Rochard Polar Bear Limoges Box with a Fish

A polar bear pauses with a fresh-caught fish, master of the Arctic ice. Rochard captured the moment in a Limoges box, painted by hand in Limoges, France.

King of the Arctic

Polar bears roam the sea ice of the far north, patient hunters built for cold that would stop almost any other animal. Rochard shows this one with its catch, a natural and slightly comic touch. The painting is done by hand, giving the coat soft shading and the fish its own bright finish.

Cool Company All Year

It suits a winter mantel display, a nature lover's bookcase, or a desk where someone dreams of an Alaska cruise or a trip to Churchill, Manitoba to see the bears. Give it to a wildlife photographer, a zoo volunteer, or a friend who supports Arctic conservation. It also makes a good Christmas present, since polar bears feel right at home among the season's snowy scenes.
