Large Watermelon Porcelain Figurine Limoges Box

A big slice of summer, this large watermelon porcelain box brings to mind picnic tables, backyard barbecues and seeds spit across the lawn. Hand-painted in Limoges, France, it is a Limoges box with the generous size and cheerful spirit of the season.

Sweetest Slice of Summer

Watermelon is the fruit of long, hot days and family gatherings, and this larger box gives that favorite plenty of presence. Its size makes it a natural centerpiece among smaller fruit shapes on a shelf.

Who Will Bring It to the Picnic

It is a cheerful present for a summer birthday, a host of a Fourth of July cookout or a farm stand owner. Anyone who counts the days until the first ripe melon of the season will grin when they see it.

Picnic Table Pairings

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits fruit, summer and picnic groupings
• Pairs with strawberry, lemonade and ice cream shapes

Fired, Then Finished

Limoges porcelain is fired at very high heat before any painting begins, and the decoration is then added by hand. That careful order of work suits a big, bold subject like a watermelon, giving it a lasting finish.
