Red and Green Watermelon Porcelain Limoges Box

Red fruit and a green rind make this watermelon box easy to love the moment you see it. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it carries the mood of a backyard picnic to a shelf in any season.

A Slice of Summer

Few foods say summer like watermelon, cut up on a hot afternoon and shared at the picnic table. This porcelain version keeps those bright colors on display long after the season ends. It is playful without being silly, a fruit box that fits easily beside more traditional pieces.

Picnic Table Favorites

• Hand-painted Limoges porcelain
• Fits a fruit, summer or picnic collection
• Groups well with the peach, pear and pineapple boxes

Fourth of July to Labor Day

Set it on a kitchen shelf, a summer buffet table or a sunny windowsill. It is fun for a July birthday, a thank you for a summer hostess or a token for a friend who grows melons in the garden. Many porcelain boxes are painted by hand after the white porcelain has been fired, and the cheerful red and green here show how much color a brush can bring.
