Rochard Cat Peeking from a Shopping Bag Limoges Box

A curious cat pokes its head out of a shopping bag on this witty porcelain piece, having claimed the latest purchase for itself. It is a Rochard piece and a retired design, hand-painted as a Limoges box in Limoges, France.

Every Bag Is a Cat Bed

Cat owners know the rule: any empty bag, box or basket set on the floor will be inspected within minutes. This scene captures that moment of triumph, when the shopping is forgotten and the bag becomes the best seat in the house.

A Rochard Wink

Rochard became known for subjects with personality and a sense of humor, and this cat in a bag is a fine example. The retired design adds to its appeal among those who track Rochard pieces after production ends.

Shoppers and Cat People

• A Rochard piece, retired design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Fits a cat, shopping or Paris boutique grouping
• Pairs with purse and handbag boxes for a playful display

Give it to a friend who loves a good shopping trip as much as her cat, to a boutique owner, or to anyone whose cat has ever moved into a gift bag. It sits well on a dresser, a vanity or a shelf with purse boxes.
