Santa Crawling Down the Chimney Retired Limoges Box
Halfway down the chimney, Santa makes his famous entrance in this Christmas Eve scene. The retired Limoges box was painted by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France.
Down the Chimney He Came
The idea of Santa squeezing down the chimney has charmed families for generations, and this box catches him right in the act. It is easy to picture the whole household sound asleep in the rooms below. It is a playful, storybook moment, full of anticipation. You can almost hear the soot falling and the stockings rustling.
Stockings Hung With Care
Display it on the fireplace mantel, of course, right beside the stockings. It also suits a hearth-side side table or a holiday curio. It is a fitting present for a chimney sweep, a family with a big working fireplace, or a grandparent who loves telling the Night Before Christmas story every year.
