Rochard Christmas Cardinal in Winter Limoges Box

Bright against the snow, the cardinal is the songbird that stays through the coldest months, and this Rochard box shows it in a winter Christmas theme. The porcelain was sculpted and hand-painted in Limoges, France.

A Visitor in the Snow

Many people believe that when a cardinal appears, a loved one who has passed is close by. That idea has made the red bird a cherished symbol at the holidays, when absent family members are missed most. Even without the legend, a cardinal at the feeder on a gray December morning is a welcome sight.

Comfort for the Season

This is a thoughtful present for someone spending a first Christmas without a parent, spouse or grandparent, or for a backyard birder who fills the feeders all winter. Set it on a mantel among evergreen boughs and candles, on a windowsill overlooking the yard, or on a bedside table where it can be seen each morning. It also fits any songbird or Christmas collection beautifully.
