Rochard Ski Gondola Hand-Painted Limoges Box

A ski gondola, the little cabin that carries skiers up the slopes above the snow, is the shape of this Rochard Limoges box. It is porcelain, painted by hand in Limoges, France.

Up the Mountain We Go

For many skiers, the gondola ride is a favorite part of the day: warm boots, a view of the valley and the anticipation of the first run. Rochard turned that alpine cabin into a hand-painted keepsake that brings a bit of the mountains home.

Snow Season Showcase

Set it on the mantel of a ski lodge, a cabin bookshelf or a family room once the first flakes fall. It makes a good memento of a trip to the Alps, Aspen or Vermont, a present for a ski instructor, or a birthday surprise for anyone who counts down to opening day on the mountain. Families who return to the same resort every winter often like having one piece that recalls those trips.
