Purple Teapot Porcelain Limoges Box

A teapot in deep purple, spout and handle in place, sits ready for an imaginary afternoon tea in this porcelain piece. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, in one of the most classic shapes of the whole Limoges tradition.

Steeped in Violet

Teapots are among the most collected Limoges box shapes, and serious collectors often chase them one color at a time. Purple is one of the bolder choices, rich enough to stand out among pastel pinks and blues on a crowded shelf. Each teapot is painted by hand, so the depth of the color shifts a little from one box to the next.

Pour Out a Thank You

Give it to the friend who always has the kettle on, a book club host, or a mother who loves a proper tea on Sunday afternoons. It makes a cheerful Mother's Day present and a fitting thank-you after a bridal shower tea. Set it inside a china cabinet, on a breakfast nook shelf, or on a tea cart beside the real thing.
