Rochard Christmas Drum Limoges Box with Toys and Santa Letter

A holiday drum trimmed with toys looks ready to march straight out of a toy soldier parade, and it hides a surprise: a little letter from Santa that lifts out from inside. This Rochard piece is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made and decorated in Limoges, France.

A Note From the North Pole

The removable letter is what turns this drum into a story. Open the lid and there is Santa's message, waiting to be read aloud on Christmas Eve or tucked back in for next year. Rochard is a Limoges studio known for clever accessories like this, and the drum and its toys are painted by hand, so each finished box shows slight differences in tone and line.

Drumroll for December

Bring it out the weekend after Thanksgiving and give it a spot on the mantel, the hall console or beside the Advent wreath. It makes a warm present for a grandparent who reads Christmas stories every year, a teacher at the winter break, or a friend who keeps every holiday tradition alive. Keep the tiny letter safe between seasons so the surprise is still there the following December.
