Clown Teddy Bear Porcelain Limoges Box

A teddy bear dressed as a clown brings a burst of circus color to this cheerful porcelain piece. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box, made in Limoges, France, with the bear forming the body of the box.

Under the Teddy Big Top

Teddy bears have worn just about every costume over the years, and the clown outfit may be the most fun. Its bright colors turn a familiar plush friend into a little performer, ready to take a bow at the center of a toy shelf.

Bearing Gifts of Laughter

This is a happy choice for a baby shower, a christening, a first birthday or a new grandparent. Nursery shelves, bookcases in a playroom and curio cabinets full of toys all suit it well. It also makes a sweet get well present, since a clown in costume is hard to look at without smiling.

Ringmaster's Pairings

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• A colorful addition to a teddy bear or clown collection
• Joins carousel, circus and toy themed boxes

Teddy bear collectors often look for the costumed versions, since each one brings a different character to the lineup. The clown is among the liveliest of those, with plenty of color in a small shape. Put it beside a carousel horse or a circus wagon and the whole shelf starts to feel like a fairground.
