Teddy Bear on Slide Hand-Painted Limoges Box

Whee, down the slide goes this teddy bear, caught in a moment of pure playground fun. It is a porcelain Limoges box, hand-painted in Limoges, France, from a retired teddy carnival design.

Slide Into Spring

A slide is a classic playground favorite, and a teddy bear zipping down it makes for a scene full of energy and joy. The piece captures that happy instant at the top before the ride begins.

Playground Particulars

• Belongs in a teddy bear, playground or toy collection

Nursery Shelf Fun

Add it to a nursery shelf, a family room bookcase, or a curio cabinet full of playful teddies. It suits a baby shower, a christening, a new grandparent's first visit, or a grown-up who still loves a day at the park.

Born of White Clay

The story of Limoges porcelain began when kaolin, a fine white clay, turned up near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768. Playful pieces like this teddy are part of that long line.
