Teddy Bear with Christmas Present Limoges Box
A teddy bear with a wrapped present captures the excitement of Christmas morning in a single small figure. Hand-painted on porcelain in Limoges, France, this holiday Limoges box is a retired design.
Under the Tree
Teddies and Christmas presents belong together, from the stocking at the foot of the bed to the parcels under the tree. This bear seems eager to hand over its gift, which makes the piece a warm addition to holiday decor.
Holiday Collector Notes
- A retired Christmas design from the Limoges teddy line
- Fits a Christmas, teddy bear or holiday collection
- Pairs with Santa, toy chest and tree pieces
December Mantel
Add it to a mantel with garland, a side table near the tree, or a Christmas village display. It suits a first Christmas, a holiday thank you for a teacher or neighbor, or a present for a teddy bear collector who decorates every December.
Kaolin and the Kilns
Limoges became a porcelain center after kaolin, a fine white clay, was found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768. Holiday pieces like this one carry that long tradition forward.
