Teddy Bear Riding a Locomotive Limoges Box

A teddy bear rides along on a locomotive in this porcelain box, ready for a trip down the line. The engine and its furry passenger were painted by hand in Limoges, France, on a Limoges box.

All Aboard the Bear Express

Trains and teddy bears are two of the most enduring classic toys, and combining them creates a piece full of good cheer. The locomotive gives it a sense of motion and adventure, while the bear adds warmth. Hand painting means the colors and expressions vary slightly from box to box.

For Train Buffs and Bear Fans

This makes a fun present for a model railroad hobbyist, a retired railroad worker, a teddy bear collector, or a new grandparent. It also suits a christening, a baby shower hostess thank-you, or a friend who rode the rails across the country.

Set it on a bookshelf beside a model train, on a dresser, or in a curio cabinet with other toy pieces. Train collectors and bear collectors alike will appreciate the pairing, and the hand-painted finish gives each piece its own character.
