Lighthouse in Town Porcelain Limoges Box

A lighthouse rises above the rooftops of a little harbor town, its beacon watching over the boats coming home. This is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, a seaside village scene in miniature.

Beacon Over the Harbor

Many lighthouses stand alone on rocky points, but some keep watch right in the middle of town, a few steps from the bakery and the fish market. This piece captures that friendlier kind of lighthouse, part of the community as much as part of the coastline.

Ports of Call

Set it on a bookshelf in a beach house, a desk in a room with a sea view, or a hall table beside a framed nautical chart. It makes a meaningful present for someone who grew up in a harbor town, a retirement nod for a ferry captain or Coast Guard veteran, or a souvenir of a summer in Maine, Brittany or Cape Cod. Lighthouse collectors will want it among their beacons.
