Rochard Birthday Cake Limoges Box with Balloons and Confetti

Balloons and confetti cover this little birthday cake, which looks like the moment just before everyone starts to sing. It is a Rochard Limoges box, hand-painted on porcelain in Limoges, France.

Make a Wish

The cake is the box itself, and the party decorations are painted around it by hand, with festive colors standing out against the white porcelain. It captures the fun of a celebration without needing a single candle to be lit.

Party Planner's Pick

Give it for a milestone birthday, a sweet sixteen, a fortieth or a ninetieth, with a note tucked inside. It also suits a retirement party or a bakery owner's shop anniversary. On a shelf it reminds everyone who passes of a good day.

Celebrations Shelf

• A Rochard birthday design, painted by hand in Limoges, France
• Works in a party, bakery or celebration collection
• Pairs with champagne, gift and cupcake boxes

Some collectors give one cake box each year and add a new party piece every birthday, so the shelf grows into a record of celebrations. The balloon and confetti version is a cheerful one to start with.
