Blue Fruit Stand Porcelain Limoges Box

Picture a corner produce stall on a village morning, painted blue and piled with fruit for the first customers. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box turns that market scene into a small figural piece, made in Limoges, France.

Market Day in Miniature

Fruit stands are a fixture of French street life, from Provence to the side streets of Paris, and the blue paintwork gives this one a cheerful, sunny look. Every surface is painted by hand after firing, so the shading and trim vary slightly between examples.

Fresh From the Stall

This piece suits anyone who plans the week around the farmers market, keeps a basket of peaches on the counter, or runs a grocery, cafe or catering business. It makes a cheerful thank-you for a favorite produce vendor or a chef who shops by the season.

Where the Greengrocer Goes

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Joins fruit basket, apple and kitchen pieces on a market-themed shelf
• Looks at home on a kitchen windowsill, a pantry shelf or a breakfast nook hutch

Group it with porcelain fruit and a tiny bread loaf, and a whole French market morning comes together in one corner of the room.
