Brown Dachshund Porcelain Limoges Box by Rochard

Long body, short legs and a whole lot of personality: the dachshund has a shape nobody mistakes. Here a brown dachshund becomes a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box by Rochard, made in Limoges, France.

The Little Badger Hound

Dachshunds were bred in Germany to follow badgers into their burrows, which explains that low, stretched build and their brave streak. Today they are better known for stealing the warm spot on the sofa. This box captures the breed in a warm brown coat, so it reads as a doxie from across the room.

Leading the Doxie Pack

• A Rochard design, painted by hand in Limoges, France
• Belongs in a dog breed or hound collection
• Pairs well with other small breed boxes like pugs and chihuahuas

Next to the Leash Hook

Set it beside a framed photo of your own dog, on an entry table by the leash hook, or on a desk where it can keep you company through the workday. It makes a warm birthday surprise for a dachshund owner, a thank-you for a favorite groomer or vet, and a gentle remembrance for someone who has lost a beloved wiener dog.
