Brown Fish with Blue Stripes Porcelain Limoges Box

A brown fish crossed with blue stripes makes for an unexpected color pairing, earthy and cool at the same time. This porcelain Limoges box was hand-painted in Limoges, France, with an unusual reef palette.

Earth Meets Ocean

Most fish boxes reach for bright tropical tones, but this one takes a quieter path. The warm brown body and cool blue stripes recall river stones and deep water, giving it a calm, natural look that blends into wood paneled rooms.

An Unusual Catch

• Brown fish with blue stripes
• Fits a fish, ocean or lake house collection
• Adds a quiet note to a row of brighter fish boxes

For the Lake House Den

Set it on a bookshelf in a lake house, on a desk in a den, or in a row with other fish to round out the color range. It makes a fine present for a fly fisherman, a river guide, or a collector who likes pieces that stand apart from the usual. It also suits someone who prefers earth tones over bright colors. Every fish is painted by hand, so the blue stripes and brown shading differ a little from piece to piece.
