Rochard Nutcracker Limoges Box in Burgundy

Standing tall in a burgundy uniform, the nutcracker soldier guards the holidays on this Rochard box. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and a deep, rich color for a classic Christmas figure.

Guardian of the Sugar Plums

Nutcrackers came out of the German woodcarving tradition, and Tchaikovsky's ballet made them the star of every December stage. This one keeps the upright soldier pose, translated into porcelain, with burgundy as its main color for a warmer look than the usual bright red.

March Into the Season

Line it up with nutcrackers in other colors on a mantel, or let it stand alone on a piano, a bookshelf or a holiday buffet. It is a lovely present for a dancer, a ballet teacher, a family that goes to the Nutcracker every year, or a collector who already owns a dozen wooden nutcrackers and wants a porcelain one. Between seasons it rests in its wrapping with the other ornaments, ready for the next first of December.
