Rochard Limoges Box, California Plate and Driver's License

A California license plate, complete with a matching porcelain driver's license, takes the shape of this Rochard Limoges box. It was hand-painted in Limoges, France, as a fun salute to the Golden State and its love of the open road.

Cruising the Pacific Coast Highway

Few states are as tied to car culture as California, from coastal drives on Highway 1 to classic car shows in the valley. A license plate box captures that spirit, and the little license inside adds a playful twist.

Golden State Glovebox

• A Rochard design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Comes with a porcelain driver's license
• Pairs with Golden Gate, palm tree, surfboard and convertible boxes

Rite of Passage on the Road

It makes a memorable present for a new driver who just passed the test, a friend moving to California, a transplant who misses home, or a classic car enthusiast. Set it on a desk, a bookshelf or a travel shelf with other state souvenirs. Road trip fans enjoy having one for each state they have called home.

A Craft That Travels Well

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat for strength and a clean white body. That makes a sturdy canvas for the crisp lettering and details on a license plate design like this one.
