Rochard Cats Lounging on an Adirondack Chair Limoges Box
Cats lounge across an Adirondack chair beside a plant, enjoying a lazy afternoon on the porch. Rochard made the scene as a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box in Limoges, France.
A Lazy Day on the Porch
The Adirondack chair was designed in upstate New York around 1903, and its wide arms and slanted seat made it the symbol of summer rest. Of course the cats claimed it first. The plant beside the chair adds a garden note, and the painters bring out the fur and wood by hand.
Where the Cats Nap
Set it on a sunroom windowsill, a porch-themed shelf, or a desk where someone wishes they were on vacation. It makes a sweet present for a cat household, a lake house owner, a friend just retired with nothing but free time, or a gardener who works with a cat supervising. It also suits a cottage housewarming.
