Baby Seal Hand-Painted Porcelain Limoges Box
A baby seal, round and soft-looking even in porcelain, rests with the easy calm of a pup on an ice floe. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, and it brings a gentle bit of the sea to any shelf.
Pup of the Northern Shore
Seal pups spend their first weeks resting and watching the world from the shoreline, and that sleepy, trusting look is what makes them so beloved. The painters in Limoges finish each one by hand, so the soft shading of the coat varies a little from piece to piece.

From the Aquarium to the Mantel
It suits a marine biologist, an aquarium volunteer, or a friend who never misses the seal feeding at the zoo. Set it on a bathroom shelf with seashells, on a desk in a beach house, or in a curio cabinet beside other ocean animals. It also makes a sweet welcome present for new parents who decorated the nursery in a gentle sea theme.
For anyone who has stood at a harbor rail watching seals bask on the rocks, this little pup brings that moment home, a quiet reminder of salt air and slow summer mornings by the water.
