Monkey Sitting on a Log Porcelain Limoges Box

Full of personality, this little monkey has found a comfortable perch on a fallen log and seems ready to cause some mischief. The log forms the base of this porcelain Limoges box, painted by hand in Limoges, France.

Monkey Business on the Log

Monkeys are among the most playful animals in any collection, and this one brings a grin to almost everyone who spots it. The rustic log gives the scene a jungle feel while keeping the focus on the animal's expression.

Swinging Into the Jungle Shelf

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a jungle, zoo or wild animal collection
• Pairs with parrot, tiger, elephant and banana pieces

Born in the Year of the Monkey

It makes a cheerful birthday present for someone born in a Year of the Monkey, a light-hearted thank-you for a zookeeper or veterinarian, or a fun addition to a game room shelf. Place a few jungle animals together and you have a small safari on a single bookcase.

Collectors who enjoy humor in their displays tend to give monkey pieces the front row, where visitors notice them first.
