Mouse Perched on Cheese Porcelain Limoges Box

A small mouse sits perched on a piece of cheese in this playful porcelain scene, clearly pleased with its find. This Limoges box was hand-painted in Limoges, France, and it adds a touch of humor to any kitchen shelf.

The Big Cheese

Mice and cheese have been paired in stories and cartoons for generations, and it is hard to look at this little scene without smiling. The mouse looks as if it has found the best prize in the pantry.

A Nibble of Humor

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a mouse, kitchen or food collection
• Pairs with cat, wine barrel and bread loaf boxes

Set Out for Cheese Night

Place it on a kitchen hutch, a pantry shelf or beside the cheese board when friends come over for wine and cheese. It makes a fun thank-you for a cheesemonger, a birthday present for someone who never met a cheese they didn't like, or a nod to the boss who is truly the big cheese.

Collectors who enjoy cat pieces sometimes like to set this mouse nearby for a little cat and mouse story on the shelf.
