Medium White Sunflower and Ladybug Limoges Box

Picture a white sunflower opened wide to the sun, with a little ladybug resting on its face. This medium sized design is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and the flower head itself lifts away as the lid.

A Visitor on the Petals

Most sunflowers are shown in gold, so the white petals here give the bloom a softer, cooler character. The tiny red ladybug brings a spot of color and a bit of good luck, since gardeners have long welcomed the beetle as a friend to their plants. Both are painted by hand in Limoges, which means the details differ slightly from box to box.

Garden Path Pairings

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Suits a garden, sunflower or insect themed collection
• Pairs with bee, butterfly and watering can pieces

Sunny Windowsill Spot

Place it on a kitchen windowsill, a potting bench shelf or a nightstand where morning light can reach it. It suits a gardener's birthday, a get well wish, or a small good luck token before a big move or a new job. For someone who already keeps ladybug pieces, this one adds a flower to the scene and gives the little beetle a place to land.
