Yellow Lamp on a Trunk Limoges Box

A sunny yellow lamp perched on top of a little trunk forms this charming porcelain figurine box. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and a decorative piece rather than a working light.

A Bright Idea on a Steamer Trunk

Pairing a lamp with a trunk turns this piece into a tiny vignette, the kind of corner found in an attic bedroom or a cozy guest room filled with family treasures. The yellow shade adds warmth and cheer, as if the lamp had just been switched on for the evening.

Furnishing a Tiny Corner

Set it on a bedside table, a bookshelf or inside a curio cabinet beside other furniture boxes to build a small room. It makes a fun housewarming present, a gift for an interior designer or antique dealer, or a birthday surprise for a friend who loves yellow. Collectors of miniatures enjoy the way it combines two pieces of furniture in one, giving their display a sense of story and lived-in charm.
