Dalmatian and Dog House Porcelain Limoges Box

A Dalmatian waits beside its dog house in this tidy porcelain scene, a classic picture of a dog at home. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, and a retired design.

Home Sweet Doghouse

The dog house gives the Dalmatian a place of its own, and the pairing has an easy, friendly feel. Dalmatians have long been linked with firehouses and carriage travel, so the breed carries a bit of history wherever it goes.

Where the Pup Belongs

Try it on a bookshelf in a family room, on an entry table near the leashes, or alongside other breed portraits in a cabinet. It suits a new dog owner's housewarming, a firefighter who loves Dalmatians, or the birthday of a dog fan who already has everything else.

It is a cheerful little piece that makes the dog house feel like the best address on the block.
