Rochard Picnic Basket with Two Hinged Lids, Limoges Porcelain

A picnic basket with two hinged lids, packed and ready for a sunny afternoon in the park, takes shape in this Rochard Limoges box. It is hand-painted in Limoges, France, and it captures the easy joy of lunch on a checkered blanket.

Packed for the Meadow

A picnic basket promises fresh bread, cold lemonade and a lazy afternoon under the trees. This piece has two hinged lids, just like the double-lidded hampers families have carried to the park and beach for generations. Rochard paints each one by hand, so the colors and details vary slightly from basket to basket.

Summer Afternoons and Anniversaries

This makes a sweet present for a couple who got engaged at a picnic, newlyweds who love lazy weekends in the park, or a friend who packs the best lunch at every summer concert. It also suits a hostess known for her garden parties, a mother on Mother's Day, or anyone who loves a meal under open sky. Set it on a kitchen shelf, a sunroom table or a sideboard beside a vase of wildflowers. Basket collectors will appreciate the double lid, which sets it apart from simpler designs.
