Doves Perched on a Heart Porcelain Limoges Box

Doves alight on top of a heart, a pairing as old as love poetry itself. The heart shaped porcelain box beneath them was painted by hand in Limoges, France.

Lovebirds on a Heart

Doves have stood for devotion since ancient times and are widely believed to stay with one partner, which is why they turn up on wedding cakes and anniversary cards alike. Setting them on a heart makes the message unmistakable, a porcelain promise that needs no words. The rounded heart shape gives the doves a natural stage.

Romance on the Dresser

A heart box like this looks lovely on a bedroom dresser, a vanity tray or a shelf with wedding photographs. Collectors of heart shaped pieces will find it slots easily among other heart boxes, while bird collectors can give it pride of place with their doves and lovebirds.
